Worker falls to death in Taguig

A 28-year-old construction worker died after he fell from 11th floor of a building at the Global City in Taguig Tuesday afternoon.   

Senior Police Officer 2 Gracio Cangco Romil Marquez, a native of Lanao del Norte, was a stay-in worker of Monolith Construction and Development Corp., the developer of the Net Plaza Building.

Cangco said at around 5:45 p.m., Marquez and co-worker Wilfredo Mabulay were busy working when the victim – who was standing near an open area of the unfinished building – lost his balance and fell to the ground. He was killed on the spot.  

Police said they are still conducting a follow-up investigation. Cangco said they are not discounting the possibility of foul play even if their initial report said Marquez slipped and fell. – Rhodina Villanueva
