3 robberies in 3 hours
Three separate robberies occurred in Quezon City within a period of three hours Saturday afternoon, with the suspects taking away cash and valuables worth more than P.5 million.
Architect Antonio Pe lost P101,000 meant for the salary of his employees to three robbers at around 5:30 p.m. Saturday.
Superintendent Elmer Bantog, commander of the Quezon City Police District-Station1, said Pe handed over the money in a brown envelope to two of his employees, Leodegario Domasig and Ritchie Cadavero.
The two men were on their way to a construction site in Barangay Lourdes where Pe’s employees were working when two armed men robbed them. A third suspect was driving a taxi (TLY-499).
The suspects were apparently waiting for Pe’s two employees on the road, Bantog said in a report.
At around 3 p.m., two men reportedly broke into the house of Josephine Ranz-Areola in Barangay N.S. Amoranto and took a total of P315,000 in jewelry and cash.
Areola’s helper, Rosita Godoy, who was in the house when the robbery occured, said the suspects hogtied her before ransacking the residence, according to Bantog.
Godoy said one of the suspects was in his 30s, 5‘6” in height, of medium build and fair-skinned; the other was also around 30 years old, of medium build, 5’4” in height and brown-skinned.
Godoy said she managed to untie herself after an hour and seek the help of their neighbors.
In Barangay Veterans Village, Superintendent Allan Parreño, commander of the QCPD-Station 2, said burglars broke into a house and stole a personal computer, two flat screen televisions, a digital video disc player and a laptop computer.
According to Parreño, Gilbert Panganiban had entrusted the house to his roommate, Brennel Jhon Vergara, when he went out of town.
However, at around 3 p.m., Vergara left the house to accompany a friend. When they came back at around 5 p.m., the items were already missing.
Investigators noted that the suspects destroyed the padlock of the main door to gain entry into the house. – Reinir Padua
