Interior and Local Government Secretary Ronaldo Puno approved the swapping of positions of two senior officials of the Bureau of Jail Management and Penology to improve the BJMP’s service to the public.
Puno said the reassignment of the two officers was also in line with the provisions of Republic Act 9263, a law that provides for the professionalization of the BJMP and the Bureau of Fire Protection.
Superintendent Emilio Culang Sr. is the new warden of the Quezon City Jail, while Superintendent Teofilo Labating will assume Culang’s old post as the BJMP-Metro Manila Assistant Regional Director for Operations. – Cecille Suerte Felipe
