2 pushers arrested in Malabon

A woman who was an alleged big-time drug peddler and her suspected cohort were arrested Wednesday afternoon in Malabon City.

Adela Boglosa, 45, ranked sixth in the watchlist of the Malabon City police Station Anti-Illegal Drugs Special Operations Task Group (SAID-SOTG), yielded 10 sachets of suspected methamphetamine hydrochloride or shabu stuffed in her coin purse.

Boglosa’s alleged partner, Aurora Lopez, 42, also yielded a packet of suspected shabu worth P500, also from her coin purse.

“We have been monitoring Boglosa’s reported illegal activity for almost two weeks already and chanced upon her with another suspect Wednesday,” Senior Inspector Arnel Dimalanta Sr., chief of SAID-SOTG, told The STAR.

Dimalanta said that due to the scarcity of shabu, a gram now has a street value of P10,000 and street peddlers are repacking it in sachets worth P500 to P1,500 each for easy disposal.

He said Boglosa is a known drug peddler in Barangay Longos “and we got her, next would be her supplier.”

The suspects said they have been involved in the drug trade for a year due to poverty.

Senior Superintendent Roberto Villanueva, Malabon City police chief, directed Dimalanta to file appropriate charges against the suspects. – Pete Laude
