One of Pasig's most wanted robbers caught

Pasig police officers finally arrested the leader of the Macabenta robbery gang, linked to several robberies of homes and businesses in Pasig and Cainta, Rizal, at a safehouse in Antipolo City yesterday.

Chief Inspector Lorenzo Trajano Jr., Pasig police’s criminal investigation chief, said Noel Macabenta and alleged gang members Francisco and Jonjee Aquino were nabbed in a house in Cogeo, Antipolo at around 3:30 p.m.

Macabenta was on Pasig’s list of 10 most wanted suspects and had been convicted for robbery in absentia 10 years ago by a Pasig court.

All three suspects have several arrest warrants for robbery and robbery with homicide cases against them before Rizal and Pasig courts. – Rainier Allan Ronda
