3 nabbed in Ayala Alabang drug bust

- Edu Punay -

Three alleged drug pushers were arrested during a drug bust at Ayala Alabang Village in Muntinlupa City early yesterday.

The Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) identified the suspects as Richard Santos Brodett, 25, of Ayala Alabang; Jorge Jordana Joseph, 22, of Pilar Village in Las Pinas City; and Joseph Ramirez Tecson, 23, of Filinvest II Subdivision in Quezon City.

Brodett is a son of the late radio announcer Johnny Midnight while Tecson is reportedly a known events organizer.

PDEA director general Dionisio Santiago said their operatives first arrested Brodett and Joseph at 12:30 a.m. after they were caught in the act of selling illegal drugs to an agent who posed as a buyer.

The PDEA said Brodett and Joseph attempted to escape, prompting agents to shoot their vehicle, a black Honda Accord.

Tecson, on the other hand, was collared during a follow-up operation at 4:30 a.m.

Six sachets containing blue ecstasy tablets, transparent capsules containing a white powder, 11 sachets containing cocaine, and three self-sealing plastic bags of marijuana leaves were seized from the suspects, the PDEA said in an initial report.

PDEA agents also recovered from the suspects assorted paper bills, personal effects and a grinder for marijuana leaves.

Officials withheld other details about the suspects and their alleged involvement in the illegal drug trade pending follow-up operations. All three face charges of violating the country’s anti-drug law.
