2 caught selling fake car plates

-

The police arrested two men caught offering fake license plates for sale at the Land Transportation Office (LTO) main office in Quezon City yesterday.

Highway Patrol Group (HPG) director Chief Superintendent Perfecto Palad said criminal charges will be filed against Gerardo Perez, 48, an employee of Aleha Drug Testing and Laboratory; and Francisco Arapoc, 42, an alleged fixer at the LTO.

After receiving a tip, HPG police officers arrested the two men as they were selling a fake congressional protocol “8” plate, a diplomatic plate (74560), and a public utility vehicle plate (PXH-310). Probers said the fake plates were being sold for P8,000 to P15,000 each.  – Cecille Suerte Felipe
