Manila cops bat for Rosales as next NCRPO chief
A group of police officers has endorsed Manila Police District (MPD) director Chief Superintendent Roberto Rosales as the next chief of the National Capital Region Police Office (NCRPO).
PNP chief Director General Avelino Razon Jr. is set to relinquish his post in Sept. 27 upon reaching the mandatory retirement age of 56, and current Metro police chief Director Geary Barias is reportedly expected to occupy a higher position.
The 3,000-strong Manila’s Finest Brotherhood Association, Inc. (MFBAI) believes Rosales’ recent stints as chief of the Southern Police District (SPD) and in the MPD have prepared him well for the post of Metro Manila’s police chief.
“No other police official in Metro Manila has demonstrated major innovations in the administrative and operational capabilities of both the SPD and the MPD,” MFBAI president Senior Police Officer 2 Antonio Emmanuel said.
The group said Rosales’ style of leadership keeps pace with the PNP’s integrated transformation program. In both stints at the two police districts, Rosales prioritized the accounting of personnel and the renovation of the district headquarters. – Nestor Etolle
