Pasay: Only 1 bank without CCTV
Pasay City police chief Senior Superintendent Marietto Valerio said only one out of 74 banks in the city has yet to comply with the city government’s order for all banks to install closed-circuit television (CCTV) cameras.

Kalagayan said bank officials said there has just been a delay in the installment of their CCTV cameras, though they have long notified their mother branch of the matter. They said the cameras will be installed “in a matter of days.”
The city government had imposed a deadline for the banks to install CCTV cameras or pay a P1,000 fine daily if they fail to beat the cut-off date.
The deadline was extended in the case of the Landbank branch.
The city council passed Ordinance 4154 to make it mandatory for banks and similar establishments to install CCTV cameras, which officials said are effective deterrents to criminals because they record incidents, help identify perpetrators, and serve as evidence. – Rhodina Villanueva
