The Marikina City police station was named the best police station of the National Capital Regional Police Office (NCRPO) during the first six months of the year, besting the Caloocan and Makati City police.
NCRPO chief Director Geary Barias said the awardees were chosen based on the criteria set by Special Promotions and Awards Deliberation Board, headed by Senior Superintendent Aleto Jerremy Mirasol of the NCRPO’s regional plans and training division.
Deputy Director General Emmanuel Carta, deputy chief for operations of the Philippine National Police (PNP), handed a plaque of recognition and a unit streamer to Marikina City police chief Superintendent Sotero Ramos Jr. during the flag-lowering ceremony held Friday at the Camp Bagong Diwa in Bicutan, Taguig City.
The Marikina City police also earned the Best Police Station honors during the 34th founding anniversary of the Eastern Police District (EPD) recently.
Last year, the Marikina City police was named the best police station of the PNP.
Carta also handed a plaque to Quezon City Police District (QCPD) chief Senior Superintendent Magtanggol Gatdula for garnering the Best Police District for the same period.
The QCPD bested the EPD, Southern Police District Manila Police District and the Northern Police District, respectively. – Non Alquitran
