DILG revamps top BFP officials

Interior and Local Government Secretary Ronaldo Puno has approved the relief of several senior officers of the Bureau of Fire Protection (BFP).

Puno said the new officers assigned in new positions should come up with programs that would further educate the public in preventing fire incidents.

The Department of Interior and Local Government (DILG) said the reassignment of BFP senior officers was contained in Department Order No. 2008-753 pursuant to Republic Act 9263 or an act to improve professionalism in the BFP.

BFP director Chief Superintendent Enrique Linsangan said the reshuffle was designed to further improve the services of the BFP to the public.

DILG Undersecretary for Public Safety Marius Corpus said the reshuffled officers were Chief Superintendent Carlito Romero who was assigned as Deputy Chief for Operations, National Headquarters; Chief Superintendent Nimfa Cuartel who was designated as the new Chief of the Directorial Staff; Senior Superintendent Jose Mamaril, Director for Administration; Senior Superintendent Elmer Asumbrado, Director for Operations; Senior Superintendent Victoriano Remedio, Director for Plans and Standards Development.

Senior Superintendent Rodrigo Abrazaldo, Director for Fire Safety and Prevention; Senior Superintendent Ramon Giron, BFP Region 1 Director; Senior Superintendent Pablito Cordeta, BFP Region 8 Director, Senior Superintendent Manuel Baduria Sr., BFP-Region 9 director; Senior Superintendent Gil Jacinto, BFP Region 10 Director; Senior Superintendent Ma. Sofia Mendoza, BFP-CAR Director; Senior Superintendent Florencio Tutor, BFP-ARMM Regional Director.

Senior Superintendent Norman Pinion, District Fire Marshall, Fire District IV, NCR; Superintendent Mauricio Ramos, District Fire Marshall, FD III, BFP-NCR; Superintendent Marchel Pangilinan, Assistant Regional Director for Operations, BFP-NCR; and Superintendent Aladdin Guiomala, Assistant Regional Director for Administration of BFP-ARMM.
