The body of an apparent victim of summary execution was found stuffed into a large box in Quezon City before dawn yesterday.
Investigators have yet to identify the body, that of a man between 25 and 30 years old, which bore stab wounds in the chest and a “Sigue-Sigue Sputnik Gang” tattoo on the back. A piece of cardboard found with the body stated that the victim was a robber.
Scavenger Hernan Escale said he was driving his pedicab to pick up some scraps when he found a large box on the sidewalk in front of the Nestle Creamery along Aurora Boulevard at around 3 a.m.
When he opened the box, Escala saw the body wrapped inside a trash bag that was sealed with packaging tape.
Escala, a resident of San Juan, went to the San Juan police, who turned over the case to the Quezon City police.
The victim was described to be 5’5” in height and wearing jeans and a black shirt. – Reinir Padua
