The Manila city government has recently honored five regional trial court (RTC) judges, five municipal trial court (MTC) judges and six city prosecutors.
“Judges and public prosecutors are in the line of fire, both literally and figuratively. In a very real sense, they put their lives on the line, for the practice of law incipiently thrives in conflict and we certainly cannot please everybody,” said Manila Mayor Alfredo Lim, who was represented by his secretary, Rafaelito Garayblas, during the ceremony.
The awardees are RTC judges Eduardo Peralta, Amor Reyes, Cielito Mindaro-Grulla, Mercedes Lacap and Nina Antonio-Valenzuela; MTC judges Manuel Recto, Rosalyn Mislos-Loja, Bernardita Santos, Aurora Hernandez Calledo, and Yolanda Leonardo; and prosecutors Raymunda Cruz-Apolo, Rector Macapagal, Annabel Magabilin, Joselito Obejas Suarez and Ma. Sophia Taylor. – Sandy Araneta
