QC cops kill 3 rob suspects
Three armed men were killed by police officers of the Quezon City Police District (QCPD) Thursday night, a few minutes after the suspects alleged robbed a nearby gasoline station.
The still unidentified men were dead on the spot due to multiple gunshot wounds after a brief encounter with the QCPD’s District Police Intelligence Operating Unit at around
Superintendent Alex Sintin, chief of the QCPD-DPIOU, said his office received a call about suspicious-looking men lurking in the area, prompting him to dispatch a team of policemen.
The policemen chanced upon the three suspects, who opened fire when the police tried to accost them, resulting in a gunbattle.
Sintin said police recovered from the suspects two.38 caliber homemade handguns, a bladed weapon and cash worth P21,260.
“It was at this point when we found out that they had just staged a robbery at a nearby Petron gas station,” Sintin told The STAR in an interview.
The suspects, whom Sintin described to be aged from late 20s to early 30s, were walking towards the direction of
Gas station supervisor Zandro Taule and cashier Lilibeth Daconos positively identified the three slain men as the ones who staged the heist. – Reinir Padua
