Man killed in Roxas  Boulevard smashup

A 44-year-old man died after the car he was driving hit a cargo truck along Roxas Boulevard in Pasay City past midnight yesterday.

Police Officer 3 Ricky Tan identified the victim as Ramuel Satin, a resident of Sun Valley, Parañaque City.

Initial investigation showed that at about 1 a.m., the victim was driving his silver Toyota Altis (XRX-648) along the southbound lane of Roxas Boulevard when Satin allegedly lost control. His car hit the rear of a truck (ZDE-866), driven by a certain Nomeriano Saulog, and even went under it.

Tan said Satin’s car was a total wreck while the victim, who suffered serious head injuries, was declared dead on arrival at the Ospital ng Maynila.

The police are still conducting a follow-up investigation to determine if the truck driver may be liable for the collision.

“We still have to check if the victim really lost control of his car,” Tan said. – Rhodina Villanueva
