300 Navotas students given scholarships

Navotas City Mayor Toby Tiangco offered scholarship grants to at least 300 poor but deserving public high school graduates in the city in partnership with the AMA Computer College-Caloocan Campus.

Tiangco led yesterday’s signing of a memorandum of agreement with AMA Computer College-Caloocan Campus school director Josephine Ebalo. Under the MOA, qualified students enrolled at AMACC-CC would enjoy a 50 percent discount on tuition.

The City Social Welfare and Development Office headed by Pat Agcaoili and Jerry Doringo of the city’s Public Information Office were tasked by the Mayor’s Office to spearhead the evaluation of applicants for the scholarship grant.

Tiangco also ordered city police chief Senior Superintendent Eric Reyes and his deputy, Superintendent Danilo Cabatu, to deploy more police officers near school campuses to prevent crimes against students.
