2 informants slain in Navotas

The police are hunting down a man reputed to be a gun for hire for allegedly murdering two police informants in Navotas City Saturday night.

Police Officer 3 Jesus del Fierro identified the suspect as Danilo de Guzman, 46, alias “Danny Toyo,” a resident of Barangay North Bay Boulevard South (NBBS), also in Navotas.

“The victims, said to be police assets, both died of a single bullet wound in the head,” Del Fierro told The STAR. “We (have) yet to get the names of the victims but witnesses were able to identify the gunman.”

He said the victims, both of them men aged between 30 to 35 years old, were walking around in Barangay NBBS at around 8 p.m. when they were gunned down. One victim was described as long-haired and slim, wearing a red t-shirt and blue short pants, while the other was short-haired, of medium build and wearing a black t-shirt and matching short pants.

The murders came hours after another informant, 38-year-old Jun Hilis, was shot in the head by an unidentified gunman while walking along Labahita street in Barangay Longos, Dagat-Dagatan, Malabon City.

The unidentified victims were brought to the Nate funeral homes on Dagat-Dagatan Avenue in Caloocan City.
