Navotas cops wanted for robbing OFW

Two members of the Navotas police station are now the subject of a manhunt following a complaint from a returning OFW that he was robbed yesterday in Navotas.

Noel Esguerra, 42, married, resident of Leongson street, San Roque, Navotas reported to the police that he lost a Saudi gold necklace (P30,000), bracelet (P15,000), a gold Rado watch (P20,000), Nokia N70 (P14,000) $600 and P11,000 in cash, to the cops.

Senior Inspector Augusto Mateo, investigation unit chief, identified the suspects as PO3 Tito Cabauatan and PO2 Rafael Espadero, both of the Navotas City police station.

In a report, victim Esguerra said he was charging his cellphone inside the house of Allan Escaran and was standing at the main door when the suspects appeared.

Without a word, the cops allegedly drew their handguns and arrested him.

Probers said the suspects dragged Esguerra back inside the house and there divested him of his cash and belongings, which remain missing.

Erano Canlas, who happened to be inside the house, was also arrested.

The cops allegedly brought Esguerra and Canlas to the police headquarters and asked the victim to come across.

When he was finally released, Esguerra tried to seek and retrieve the items taken earlier from him by the two cops but to no avail.

Police said the two cops remain at large.
