Philippine National Police Deputy Director General Jesus Verzosa has lauded Gawad Kalinga and other partner shelter agencies of the PNP in the implementation of its housing and quartering program for homeless cops.
Verzosa, also the chairman of the PNP housing board, said the PNP personnel quartering and housing program is one of key projects under the PNP Integrated Transformation Program.
“Gawad Kalinga and other shelter agencies are the prime movers in this endeavor to provide decent housing for our police personnel,” he said.
He also thanked Philippine National Police Chief Director General Avelino Razon Jr. for “giving priority to the welfare of our police personnel” when he was chairman of the housing board.
Verzosa said the “continuity” of programs aimed at the improving the lot of the men and women of the PNP should be pursued.
He also instructed the regional housing boards to enhance coordination with Gawad Kalinga and other non-government organizations.
