The Department of Interior and Local Government (DILG) announced yesterday the appointment of a senior jail official as the new director of the Bureau of Jail Management and Penology (BJMP).
DILG Assistant Secretary Brian Yamsuan said that on the recommendation of DILG Secretary Ronaldo Puno, President Arroyo approved the other day the appointment of Director Ross Dial as BJMP head.
Dial assumed the post vacated by Armando Llamanzares, who retired.
Dial is a graduate of the Philippine National Police Academy Class of 1986. PNPA graduates are given a chance to join the PNP, the BJMP or the Bureau of Fire Protection, which are all under the DILG.
Yamsuan said Dial joined the BJMP after his graduation from the PNPA. – Jaime Laude
