Cabbie nabbed for drive-by snatching

-

Police arrested Wednesday a 27-year-old taxi driver tagged as behind a series of robberies wherein he would snatch the bags from pedestrians in San Juan City.

Suspect Alfie Malabasco was nabbed while driving a white Toyota Corolla taxicab (PWE- 272) in Barangay Addition Hills. He did not resist arrest.

San Juan police chief Superintendent Rodelio Jocson said the cab’s plate number turned out to be tampered and was reported to be used in a series of robbery-snatching incidents in the city.

Jocson said at least four complainants turned up at the San Juan City police headquarters to identify Malabasco as the one who snatched their bags as he drove past them.

Jocson said Malabasco has several standing arrest warrants for robbery-snatching in San Juan and its neighboring cities. He denied the charges against him.

He is currently detained at the San Juan City police detention center pending the filing of robbery charges against him.   – Non Alquitran
