Muntinlupa graduates urged to try technical, vocational courses

-

Muntinlupa Mayor Aldrin San Pedro is urging all graduating high school students to seize all opportunities, including enrolling in technical -vocational courses, if they are unable to go to college.

San Pedro is a speaker in graduation ceremonies at all public elementary and high schools in the city starting today.

“Poverty should not be a hindrance to their career path. What they can do is take courses, including automotive and computer repair, that will open other opportunities for their future,” he said.

San Pedro said failure to enroll in college is not the end of the road for graduates, noting that skilled workers are in demand here and abroad.

He said the city-run Muntinlupa City Technical Institute offers technical-vocational courses like reflexology, dressmaking and cosmetology. The institute’s growing enrollment is proof that there is a growing trend towards tech-voc courses, he said.

A total of 9,867 students will graduate from all 16 public elementary schools and four high schools in the city.
