The management committee created by the Housing and Land Use Regulatory Board (HLURB) will proceed with what it described as the “legal” sectoral elections in BF Homes Parañaque today.
During the polls, the subdivision’s 70 homeowners’ associations – grouped in 15 sectors – will choose sectoral representatives or delegates.
After about a week, a general election of United BF Homeowners Association Inc. (UBFHAI) officers – from president to auditor – is supposed to be held.
The HLURB’s management committee or mancom scheduled its sectoral polls exactly two weeks after incumbent and holdover UBFHAI officials conducted their own sectoral polls in defiance of HLURB orders.
Antonio Antonio, one of the members of the mancom chaired by lawyer Aristotle Sarmiento, maintains that the mancom is the only one authorized to call and conduct UBFHAI polls.
The polls are the latest flashpoints in the conflict between the mancom and the UBFHAI officials led by Cesar Reyes, who was accused of graft by former UBFHAI president Rolando Navarro. The mancom was created to audit the UBFHAI and verify the charges, as well as conduct polls after coming out with the final audit report.
