Police are hunting down a sexagenarian who killed his own son in Caloocan City Saturday night after the Manila Electric Co. cut off the power supply to their house due to a tampered meter.
Herminigildo Penoliar Sr., a resident of Barangay 178 in Camarin, Caloocan City North, went into hiding after he shot dead his 35-year-old son and namesake, who worked as a taxi driver. The elder Penoliar is jobless.
Senior Police Officer 1 Carmelito Silvino said the elder Penoliar scolded his son for tinkering with the power meter.
This started a heated argument, at the height of which the elder Penoliar shot his son twice in the stomach with a .38 caliber revolver. He shot his son twice in the head when the latter tried to flee. – Pete Laude
