Couple killed in Valentine’s Day mishap

-

A vehicular accident in Quezon City claimed the lives of a couple on Valentine’s Day.

The victims were identified as Kevin Alamag, 40, and his wife Abella, 46, who both died when their car was rammed by a passenger bus at past 7 a.m. yesterday under the Tandang Sora flyover along Commonwealth Ave.

Traffic investigator Bobby Ormito said the victims died on  the spot on board a green Nissan Sentra with license plates EKS-856 that was totally wrecked after the accident.

Ormito said the still unidentified driver of the Nova bus with license plates TWL-703 left the bus and escaped.

He said the Alamags were on their way to Commonwealth Avenue when it was hit by the bus as it turned right.

The passenger bus hit the driver’s side of the vehicle.

Meanwhile, seven vehicles were caught in a chain collision after a bus lost its breaks on Mindanao Ave. Extension corner Don Mariano Ave. at around 5:30  a.m. yesterday.

Traffic investigator James Balingasa said four still identified passengers of a gray Tamaraw FX taxi  with license plates TYD-180 were slightly injured and were brought to the Far Eastern University Hospital.   – Reinir Padua
