Six men were arrested for stealing a tow truck and two compressors from Maynilad contractor in Caloocan City early yesterday.
Chief Inspector Jose Valencia, Station investigation and Detective Management bureau (SIDMB) chief, identified the suspects as Ricardo Reyes, 36; Alberto Santos, 39; Ernesto Sabong, 27; Jun Rivera, 35; Mario Macaburos, 31; and Joel Bagayao, 27.
The suspects, who opted to remain silent after being apprised of their rights, are now in the custody of the Caloocan police.
The suspects were flagged down by police officers along Samson Road at around 4:30 a.m. after Rosito San Diego Tinoy, 40, subcontractor for Maynilad Water Services Inc (MWSI) reported the theft.
The police officers seized from the suspects a white six-wheeler Isuzu Elf dropside pickup truck (ZFM-959) of Saver’s Trucking and registered to Samuel Versoza, and two compressors valued at P175,000.
Tinoy said the truck and the compressors had been in front of his residence in Bago Bantay, Quezon City when the suspects stole them. – Jerry Botial
