Intern falls to death from condo unit

A 20-year-old intern died after falling from the 33rd floor of a condominium in Malate, Manila before dawn yesterday.

Dennis Barrera Repedro, single, fell from his unit at the Cityland Tower 2 on P. Ocampo street at around 1:45 a.m.

Senior Police Officer 2 Edgardo Ko said tenants of Unit 827 heard a loud thud. When they went out to check, they were surprised to see Repedro, who was clad only in his underwear, lying on the eighth-floor balcony. Police said Repedro suffered from a crushed skull and broken limbs.

According to reports, Repedro – a cadet of Internship Navigation School and a native of Aklan – lived with his elder sister, Divina, at Unit 3325.

Prior to the incident, Repedro went to a relative’s house but kept in touch with his sister through text messages. At about 11:50 p.m., Divina left their unit and went to her boyfriend’s unit on the third floor.

Divina said she did not know if her brother had problems. The police said Repedro’s death will be subjected to further investigation. – Helen Flores
