The National Bureau of Investigation (NBI) summoned five people who alleged beat up and stole the valuables of decathlete-turned-businessman David Bunevacz last November.
Head Agent Sixto Burgos Jr. of the Anti-Kidnapping, Hijacking and Armed Robbery Division (NBI-AKHARD) said they issued subpoenas to Tyrone Ong, Cedric Lee, Louie Kau, Chito Ho, and Dominique Sytini, all of West Greenhills, San Juan City. They are scheduled to appear at the NBI Monday afternoon.
“We sent them the subpoena because we want to know their side of the story. This is a fact-finding investigation and we cannot just listen to the arguments raised by Mr. David Bunevacz,” Burgos said.
Burgos said that based on the initial information they received, Bunevacz was an investor of the posh Beverly Hills 6750 Cosmetic Surgery and Skin Institute in Makati City and that he was reportedly accused of misusing P18 million of the company’s earnings.
Sometime, last month he went to the house of a business associate in Greenhills, San Juan where he claimed he was manhandled by four men who reportedly hit him and took his P1 million Hublot watch, P10 million Porsche, and P6,000 cellular phone.
The NBI provided him with security. Bunevacz said he plans to hire his own bodyguards as well. – Evelyn Macairan
