‘Efren Reyes’ arrested for malicious mischief

A namesake of movie actor Efren Reyes was arrested at past midnight yesterday by patrolling police for trying to steal a steel pipe of a sports gear company in San Juan City.

Reyes, 37, a laborer and resident of Barangay Kabayanan in San Juan, was arrested by policemen at around 12:30 a.m. while using a chain cutter to cut through a steel pipe installed in front of the Sports Resources Global Extension in the same barangay.

Antonio Arellano, 20, caretaker of the sports gear firm, saw Reyes cutting the steel pipe and called the police.

Reyes will be charged with malicious mischief, according to the police.    – Jose Rodel Clapano
