The Commission on Elections (Comelec) will provide the National Bureau of Investigation (NBI) with the list of all the cases handled by its slain legal chief Alioden Dalaig to help solve his murder.
Acting Comelec chairman Florentino Tuazon said the NBI, which is conducting a parallel probe with the Philippine National Police, had requested for the list of all the cases pending before Dalaig.
“We’re still following up several leads… work-related is one of the angles we’ll have to look into. Primarily, it’s work,” he told reporters.
Dalaig’s younger brother, Bashek, said members of their family “hope that justice will be served to my brother. He has not done anything wrong. We hope that those behind his death will soon be arrested and punished.”
Bashek, along with Dalaig’s widow, went to the Comelec yesterday to claim the slain official’s belongings. – Sheila Crisostomo
