Elections in almost all of Pasay City’s 201 barangays ended peacefully Monday night, but one barangay has yet to set another date for electing its officials following a failure of elections.
A Pasay election officer told The STAR that they “don’t have a schedule yet” for the polls in Barangay 76. “The Comelec (Commission on Elections) will have to issue a resolution for it,” the officer added.
Pasay City North High School principal Evaristo Sobremisana declared a failure of elections in Barangay 76 after an alleged ballot box snatching incident.
Acting as overall elections coordinator, he said an unidentified group started destroying school property while elections were being held.
There were also reports of flying voters in the area where three candidates for village chief were battling each other for the post.
