Three of the four robbers, who remain unidentified, were killed on the spot during the shootout, which lasted 15 minutes, according to police. The fourth robber was brought to the hospital.
The slain policeman was identified only as Inspector Ordiz of the Special Action Force, an elite unit of the Philippine National Police.
Police said some of the bullets hit Ordiz through an opening in his bulletproof vest. – Perseus Echeminada
