Las Piñas City has a new chief of police after Senior Superintendent Amando Clifton Empiso replaced Superintendent Josephus Angan in a simple turnover ceremony yesterday afternoon.
Empiso was formerly with the Support Group of the National Capital Region Police Office, and the camp commander of Camp Bagong Diwa in Taguig City.
Southern Police District director Chief Superintendent Luizo Ticman said Angan will assume an important position in Camp Crame, specifically at the Personnel Division.
“It was Superintendent Angan who expressed a desire to move on and be assigned to another office. He said he would still like to function as a police official but given a different task or to be working in a different setting,” Ticman noted.
Angan served as Las Piñas’ police chief for two and a half years. He said he is thankful that for the period he served as chief of the Las Piñas police, no major crimes took place in the city. – Rhodina Villanueva
