Suspected pusher caught in Paco

Manila police arrested in a buy-bust operation yesterday a suspected drug pusher reportedly responsible for the proliferation of shabu in the Ermita district.

Aside from seven small heat-sealed plastic sachets containing suspected shabu and a digital weighing scale, lawmen also seized a .9-millimeter caliber pistol, a shotgun and several rounds of ammunition from the house of Eduardo Eñano, alias “Bho-Bho,” 32, on Obeses street in Paco.

Eñano’s name was listed in the police order of battle on street drug pushers after intelligence reports showed that he was responsible for the proliferation of illegal drugs in the Ermita district, according to Ermita police chief Superintendent Rogelio Rosales.

After proper coordination with the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA), Rosales tasked a police poseur-buyer to transact a drug deal with the suspect.

During the transaction – which happened in front of the suspect’s house – Eñano became suspicious of the poseur-buyer and ran to his house. Policemen gave chase and collared Eñano before he could open a cabinet in which he stores his firearms.

Also recovered from him were the marked money, according to Rosales.

Charges of selling illegal drugs, possession of illegal drugs and paraphernalia and illegal possession of firearms were filed against Eñano. – Nestor Etolle
