EPD marks 33rd year today

-

The Eastern Police District (EPD) will honor its outstanding police units and personnel, as well as non-government organizations (NGOs) on its 33rd founding anniversary today.

According to EPD director Chief Superintendent Luizo Ticman, the  awarding will be the highlight of the celebration and is set to be held at the EDP headquarters along Caruncho Avenue in Pasig City. The guest of honor is Pasig City Mayor Robert Eusebio.

Among the units to be given commendations are the four EPD police stations, the District Mobile Force and the Office of the District Chaplain.

Certificates of recognition will also be awarded to Superintendent Leopoldo Galon, Inspector Ernesto Rosal, Inspector Teresito Perez,  Senior Police Officer 2 Rafael Cruz, SPO4 Jaime Nicabera and SPO4 Armando dela Guerra. They were cited for their dedication to their jobs, and  risking their lives beyond the call of duty.

Individual certificates of appreciation will also be given to various non-government organizations, Marikina Heights barangay captain Raul Taytayan, Daud  Montinan, Dexter Barrientos, Rommel Esquerdo and Juaquin Padilla, for their relentless support to the EPD.

Under Ticman’s leadership, the crime rate in EPD’s jurisdiction remained very low compared with that of previous years.

Officials attribute this to the EPD’s night watch program wherein beat patrols, mobile patrols and motorcycle cops are always visible at checkpoints, chokepoints and fixed visibility points. Crime solution efficiency was likewise very high.

The EPD was also adjudged as best crowd disturbance management contingent regionwide during the recent CDM competition conducted by National Capital Regional Police Office (NCRPO).  Non Alquitran
