1 killed, 3 hurt in Pasay fire

An 18-year-old nursing student died and three others were injured after a fire razed two houses in Pasay City early morning yesterday.

Fire Officer 3 Renato Recto, arson investigator, identified the fatality as Krisnel Reyes. Her mother Virginia and brothers Christopher and Kent suffered burns in the incident.

Investigation showed that the incident happened around 6:01 a.m. The fire immediately spread to two other houses located along Villaruel street in Laging Handa Village. Three families were left homeless.

The fire reached the second alarm before it was put out around 7 a.m. after four firetrucks of the city government arrived at the scene.

Around P500,000 worth of property had been destroyed in the fire. Recto said they are still conducting a follow-up investigation to determine the cause of the blaze.    – Rhodina Villanueva
