A 22-year-old pedicab driver was found dead with stab wounds in the body inside a village chapel before dawn yesterday in Caloocan City.
The body of Christopher Facultan was discovered by his neighbor Bryan de Guzman, while slumped on a bench at the barangay chapel at Block 7, Phase 3-C, Barangay 20, Kaunlaran Village in Dagat-Dagatan at around 3:30 a.m.
Police Officer 2 Ferdinand Naval said the victim sustained two deep stab wounds in the chest.
According to the victim’s relatives, Facultan was complaining of the warm weather and went out of the house to get some fresh air.
Police said Facultan later decided to sleep at the open barangay chapel just across their house.
But before dawn, his neighbor found him lying on the bench with stab wounds in the chest and was already dead.
Probers said the suspect even switched off the lights of the chapel.
Police are still trying to establish whether Facultan’s killing has a connection with his alleged conflict with a group of pushers and small-time robbers in their area.
