FLI profit up 64% to P252M in Q1 - By Zinnia B. Dela Peña

-

The Pasig City police force requested the neighboring Marikina police force to beef up security at the Pasig City Sports Center yesterday as tension between supporters of mayoralty candidates Councilor Robert “Bobby” Eusebio and Pasig Rep. Robert “Dodot” Jaworski Jr. escalated.

Superintendent Frank Uyami, Pasig police chief, said they asked for additional policemen to help them secure the gym where the  canvassing of election returns and certificate of votes will be held.

“Based on our evaluation, we need the additional personnel,” Uyami told The Star, adding that they also need to make sure that peace is maintained in the city.

The bitter fight between Eusebio, son of incumbent Mayor Vicente “Enteng” Eusebio, and Jaworski, has rubbed on their supporters, with both sides  monitoring developments at the Pasig gym.

Both sides were claiming victory. Eusebio’s camp was saying  that their quick count showed a clean sweep of all elective positions, from mayor to councilor.

Figures reflected in the group’s quick count showed Eusebio garnering 112,312 votes compared to his rival’s 98,280 votes.
