Fire hits Pasay

-
A fire reportedly caused by an airconditioning unit that overheated razed houses in Pasay City yesterday morning.

The blaze which reached the third alarm started shortly after 7 a.m. at the second floor of the house located at No. 618 J. Isidro Street corner Edang Malibay, Pasay City, reportedly owned by a certain Julieta Cristisa.

Inspector Leo Andiso, arson investigator, said the fire immediately spread to at least three houses nearby. At least five firetrucks trooped to the area to help put out the fire.

Firefighters were able to contain the fire in less than an hour but failed to prevent traffic in the area from building up. Affected by the resulting traffic jams were nearby roads, including those leading to the Ninoy Aquino International Airport (NAIA) and the Manila Domestic Airport.
