The senator personally accompanied the candidates to the local Commission on Elections (Comelec) office in San Juan.
"Jinggoy’s Choice" include a candidates running for congressman, vice mayor and councilors, filed their certificates of candidacy yesterday afternoon, a personnel from the Comelec who requested anonymity said.
Ejercito, running under the Pwersa ng Masang Pilipino party, and his councilors, meanwhile, filed their candidacy in the morning.
The initial list of Jinggoy’s candidates include Philip Cezar for vice mayor; Bobby Yan, Jana Ejercito, and Vic Reyes for councilors. Former Rep. Jojo Alcovendaz will face re-electionist congressman Ronaldo Zamora.
Cezar also ran for vice mayor in 2004 under "Jinggoy’s Choice" but lost. Only Yan made it, ranking number two in the councilors of the municipality.
Meanwhile, Ejercito will be facing a relative of Ilocos Sur Gov. "Chavit" Singson in the mayoralty race.
