The Manila Water Co. cited the theme of today’s observance of World Water Day – Coping with Water Scarcity – as very timely given the situation of Filipinos’ access to safe and clean water.
The Department of Environment and Natural Resources (DENR) underscored the imperatives of preserving the country’s water resources, saying that their destruction could threaten the environment and the people’s way of life.
The Ayala-led firm, which serves the Metro Manila East Zone, noted that its Water for the Community program sits well with the thrust of the observance of World Water Day.
More than one million East Zone residents have so far benefitted from the project designed to address the need for potable water in low-income communities.
