Police in Quezon City killed two alleged robbers on a motorcycle in a brief shootout the other night.
Senior Superintendent Procopio Lipana, commander of Quezon City Police District-Station 7, said the two unidentified men were killed on the spot.
Lipana said that prior to the shootout, police received a complaint from a woman who claimed that she was robbed by two men riding on a motorcycle at the corner of Edsa and Liberty street.
The QCPD-Station 7 chief said policemen stationed at so-called "choke points" were immediately alerted and activated. Soon, authorities spotted the suspects at around 10:30 p.m. along N. Domingo street near the corner of Balete Drive.
Instead of stopping, police said the suspects sped off, prompting a pursuit that ended in a shootout.
Lipana said they recovered from the suspects a caliber .38 gun, an MK-2 hand grenade, and the wallet and watch of the woman who reported to the police.
Authorities are verifying if the motorcycle was stolen.
