Fire hits house in Quezon City
March 13, 2007 | 12:00am
An hour-long fire razed a one-story house in Quezon City, a Bureau of Fire Protection official reported yesterday.
Chief Inspector Oscar Villegas, said the fire broke out at about 9:30 a.m. on Salvador street in barangay Kruz na Ligas and was put out an hour later.
No one was hurt. Fire investigators were still determining the cause of the blaze as of press time.
An early phone call by a concerned resident and the firefighters’ quick response prevented the fire from creating further damage, Villegas said.
With the onset of the dry season, Villegas encouraged residents – particularly in congested areas – to strictly observe fire prevention measures.
"We are reminding residents to be safety conscious and ensure their houses are not fire traps," he said. – Perseus Echeminada
