3-year-old girl killed in Pasay fire

A three-year-old girl was killed while her father was injured after a fire gutted several shanties in Pasay City yesterday morning.
Pasay arson investigators identified the victim as Samantha Cariño. Her father Allan, 26, sustained burns on his body and was treated at a nearby hospital.
Inspector Leo Andiso said the fire destroyed several shanties made of wood and light materials, along P. Santos Street in Malibay, Pasay City.
Investigators said the two-hour blaze that started at around 10 a.m. could have been caused by faulty electrical wirings.
Andiso said arson probers are conducting follow-up operations to determine the cause of fire.
Meanwhile, two fires broke out in residential areas Makati City last Friday night.
An abandoned house in Barangay Poblacion was gutted shortly after 6 p.m.
More than four hours later, another fire gutted a house located along Recoletos St. in Urdaneta Village.
Probers identified the owner of the two-story house as Cristino Lim.
The fire reportedly started in the room of Lim’s daughter, Cristine, around 10:40 p.m. It was contained at 1 a.m.
A certain Karl Wilson, also a resident in the area, was injured in the incident. Wilson reportedly sustained burns in his right hand when a heated metal scrap accidentally hit him.
