More than 100 vendors are continuing their protest at the Cultural Center of the Philippines (CCP) complex in Pasay City after authorities dismantled their stalls in the area. Merlyn Palomas, president of the Federation of CCP Vendors and Bike Operators Inc., said they will maintain the picketline in the area to appeal to the CCP management to provide a space for the vendors and bicycle-hiring establishments and allow them to resume operations as soon as possible.
Palomas said CCP officials initially identified the area at Jalandoni Street between the Philippine International Convention Center and Star City, as the particular site where they can put up their stalls.
She said that for more than a month now, since their stalls were demolished by the Metro Manila Development Authority (MMDA) clearing teams, the vendors have not yet talked to CCP president Nestor Jardin.
