Binay said he received a text message from his sources from the Intelligence community warning him that the breakaway group of the MILF, ABB and NPA are out to stage bombings during opposition rallies in Makati.
"I received a confidential memorandum and text message from the Philippine National Police (PNP) intelligence officer confirming that there will be bombings in Makati, which will start in March," Binay said.
He added that the text message also warned him to be prepared in all their meetings.
Binay asked the PNP hierarchy to seriously look into the reported plot to stage bombings in Makati during the campaign period for the local elections.
He said the PNP has dismissed the alleged bomb plot as a possible prank message.
"I don’t know why I’m the target, but the PNP should seriously look into the report. They should not immediately dismiss it as a prank message," Binay said, adding that the alleged text message was received by a ranking official of the PNP and his contacts in the intelligence community who were informed of the phrasing of the message said it could only be sent by an intelligence operative, and not a prankster.
He said that although the alleged bombing falls within the campaign period for local candidates, the plot will not affect his schedule, nor that of the Genuine Opposition.
"I am leaving it all up to God. This is part of the risk we have to take when we decided to work for truth and justice," Binay said. "It could be that the hodge-podge list of perpetrators is an attempt to hide the real identities of the plotters.
