A high school student was stabbed and seriously wounded in a fraternity brawl Tuesday night in Malabon.
Police Officer 2 Edsel dela Paz, officer-on-case, identified the victim as Roberto Ignacio, 18, of Barangay Hulong Duhat.
According to the police, Ignacio was walking with friends at around 7:50 p.m. in front of the Malabon National High School along M. Naval Street in the same barangay, when the attackers – members of a rival fraternity – confronted them, resulting in a rumble.
Ignacio was stabbed in the back with an ice pick by one of the suspects, Dela Paz said.
School security guards Edwin Zosimo and Gerald Gario, who witnessed the incident, tried to stop the fight and everyone scampered, leaving Ignacio bleeding on the pavement with the ice pick still in his back.
