Tsinoy businessman stabbed dead in robbery

- Rhodina Villanueva -
A 44-year-old Chinese-Filipino businessman was stabbed dead by three unidentified men after robbing him of close to a million pesos early morning yesterday in Las Piñas City.

Police Officer 3 Eleazar Camiling, officer-on-case, identified the victim as 44-year-old Harry Lim, a resident of Barangay Talon Uno.

Camiling said that around 3:40 a.m., the robbers forcibly entered the house which also serves as a softdrinks warehouse. Lim was in the softdrinks delivery business.

The police said the three robbers, who were armed with a gun and knives, proceeded to Lim’s room and saw his wife, Nilda, wide awake.

At gunpoint, Nilda led one of the robbers to the office, leaving the two others watching Lim who was still asleep. The wife was forced to empty the vault with cash amounting to P700,000. The robbers also took jewelry kept in the vault.

After the three have fled, the wife went back to the bedroom and found that her husband had been stabbed.

Camiling said investigators were looking into the possible involvement of a former employee, with whom Lim had had a recent argument. The former employee didn’t come back to work when Lim allegedly threatened to shoot him during the exchange.
