NAIA officer files complaint vs envoy

-
An airport police lieutenant filed a complaint yesterday against a woman who identified herself as a diplomat for failing to confine her bulldog in a car after attempting to attack several people at the arrival area at the NAIA Wednesday night. The dog, carried on a leash by the owner, also attempted to attack the driver of Roy Cimatu, special envoy to the Middle East, who was about to arrive from Dubai.

Airport police Lt. Jaime Strella reported to head executive assistant Roberto Uy at about 9:30 p.m. Wednesday night, their appeal for the still unidentified woman to confine her dog in her car but was again ignored despite an appeal from NAIA action officer Manny Rodriguez.

Estrella and Rodriguez said all kinds of diplomatic approach to convince the woman to put her dog in the car for safety but the woman refused and instead flashed a diplomatic card and arrogantly demanded to show to her the order prohibiting dogs at the airport while unsavory words were heard by Strella from the woman.

At about 9:45 p.m., a Caucasian looking man arrived and happily met the dog but not the handler as they boarded an Isuzu Rodeo SUV with blue plate number 224266 as they were whisked away from the airport. – Rudy Santos
