Charges filed vs rogue Caloocan cop

Criminal charges were slapped by the City Prosecutor’s Office yesterday against a Caloocan cop for allegedly robbing a meat dealer in Navotas last Saturday.

Senior Superintendent William Macavinta, Caloocan City police chief, said charges of robbery, attempted homicide and frustrated homicide were filed against Police Officer 1 Ruben Baratas.

Baratas allegedly grabbed businesswoman Louise Palileo’s bag containing P270,000 in cash and several checks. He opened fire on security guard Richard Fulgadas, who gave chase. Baratas instead wounded a bystander, Mary Grace Bona. Jerry Botial
